Battery Townsley
Visited Battery Townsley at the Marin Headlands this weekend. It’s 20 miles north of the city and AMAZING! The drive is all through these old army barracks and green hills, and a one lane tunnel about 2 miles long, kinda sketchy. When you get there you have to climb up a semi steep hill to get to the top, but the walk is really fun because all around the area are hatches that lead to underground barracks. I felt like I was on the LOST set.

Hatches!
All the hatches and buildings are locked and cemented shut, so no chance of getting in without a crow bar or explosives, haha. The best part is the views, my god the views. At the very top you have a view of the Golden Gate, SF, the island, and the ocean. There are buoys that make the most hypnotizing clanking noize to warn ships of their locations, I guess.

SF Bay View
It was unbelievably cold, so bring warm clothes.

The picture below is what this place used to look like…

yea I remember hearing the clanking of the bouys. Made it feel really surreal as if it should’ve been in some movie. I want to go back soon with everyone who went that day.
